Bayonet remains in fine as found uncleaned condition. Both guard and frog stud have matching navy markings I.W.D. 502. The blade and underside of guard are marked CROWN over FW 61. The leather has shrunk about 3mm. The side of the scabbard tip has sustained a little period damage and has some dings. Bayonet measures 25 1/4" in scabbard. These very early dated bayonets are very scarce.
