Knife remains in fine + condition. The very top of wood grip is stamped S.W.P. 1881. The top of grip has a small chip. Blade is bright with a very light period edge with scuffs and scratches on the cutting edge. The original early Varney pattern scabbard is very nice and marked WATERVLIET ARSENAL. Blade fits scabbard perfect. Knife measures 15 1/2" in scabbard.
