Antique Bayonet made by Ames Mfg Co.

I have a bayonet made by the Ames Mfg Co. around 1843-47 era. I think it called a Muskatoon. It is aprox.26" in length,double egded,with brass handle that looks like fish scales.Any infromation would be helpful. Thank You
